About Punjab Public Service Commission:
Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is an autonomous body in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. It was established in 1947, with the objective of recruiting eligible and competent candidates for various civil service positions in the province. The PPSC operates under the provisions of the Constitution of Pakistan and the Punjab Public Service Commission Ordinance, 1977.
The commission is responsible for conducting competitive exams, evaluating the applications and making recommendations to the provincial government for the appointment of officers in various departments, including the Police Service, Education, Health, Revenue, and other public service departments.
The commission consists of a Chairman and a number of members, appointed by the Governor of Punjab on the advice of the Chief Minister. The PPSC conducts written exams, interviews and personality tests to determine the eligibility of the candidates. The commission also handles complaints related to the recruitment process and ensures the impartial and transparent functioning of the recruitment process.
The PPSC plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of the civil service in Punjab and ensuring that the appointments are made based on merit.
